After an extensive review, Forrester recognized both SAP and Sybase among the leaders in enterprise database warehouse (EDW) platforms for their innovative approaches to shipping next-generation appliances.
In Forrester's 56-criteria evaluation of EDW vendors, published February 10, 2011, the firm specifically found that Sybase was among those companies that "lead by offering high-performance, scalable, flexible and robust EDW solutions."
The Forrester Research, Inc. report cites many differentiators of Sybase IQ including:
- its integration with Sybase data modeling and data integration tools
- the ability to run on a broad range of software and hardware platforms
- considerable extensibility and customization through in-database analytics, LDMs, UDFs and stored procedures
