MOHAMMED MOINUDHEEN

Congratulations to Mohammed Moinudheen! Mohammed has been employed at Tata Consultancy Services for more than four years and for the last three years has worked as a production DBA. Tata Consultancy Services has several mission critical Sybase database applications which Mohammed supports in his capacility as DBA. Preparing for his Certification on Sybase ASE 15 was, in his own words, "a great experience, considering the terrific new features that have been introduced in this product." Mohammed is currently looking forward to learning more about Sybase, especially on topics dealing with replication. According to Mohammed: "This certification certainly has enhanced the confidence of my client and managers towards me. Also, it improves the confidence of the Sybase application partners in one's ability as a Sybase production DBA. This certification is definately not to be missed considering my experience as a Sybase DBA."

SHIV RAMPAL

Congratulations Shiv Rampal! Shiv has been employed at Tata Consultancy Services for more than three years and currently works as a production DBA with one of their BFSI clients in the USA. Shiv has been focusing his entire career on sybase for several years now, beginning with Sybase ASE 12.0, 12.5, and now Sybase ASE 15. Shiv also has experience working with Sybase Replication Server and continues to enhance and improve his technical capabilities and skills. In his own words, Shive regards Sybase Certification as an important step in his improvement plans and believes that "preparing for Sybase 15 certification was the most challenging and learning task.This certification helped me to explore all features of Sybase".

MAHESH SAHU

Congratulations Mahesh Sahu! Mahesh studied various IT areas during his college years and continued post-graduate work until earning his Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree. Shortly thereafter, he was employed by Central for Railway Information System (CRIS) to fulfill the job role of Sybase DBA, where he dedicated himself and his entire career to Sybase. Since then, he has continuously been curious about learning more about Sybase Development and DBA related activities. He then began to study, work hard and prepare for his Sybase certifications. He then moved onto another company called HCL and is still with them today.

Mahesh continues to focus on Sybase development. The Certified Sybase Professional program and the four product certifications he currently holds has, in Mahesh's words, "enhanced my knowledge and made me more competent among my co-workers. I gained an edge and moved forward in my projects. I was highly appreciated by my managers as well as clients for these certifications. So, in short, my certifications increased my knowledge, answered my curiosity and made me successful in my career".

NAVNEET CHOLA

Congratulations Navneet Chola! Navneet is one of the first ASE 15.0 certified DBAs since the publication of the exam. Currently, he works with Cognizant Technology Solutions India Pvt Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Cognizant Technology Solutions in the USA (Nasdaq 'CTSH'). He looks after several and various ASE and Replication servers for a leading mortgage company as an offshore DBA Team Lead. He has also been working with Sybase products since ASE 11.x 12.x, 12.5, and now 15.0 for the past 7 years. He has a solid working knowledge of Replication Server 12.6.

Navneet has been involved with different Sybase groups and helps professionals like himself resolve complex issues. A useful script he has written for checking errorlogs has been published in Rob Verschoor's Site ( http://www.sypron.nl/misctools.html), so that others like himself can make use of it. Navneet feels strongly that certification has helped him a lot professionally, because Sybase Certification is recognized within the IT industry and Sybase community. It has also helped him learn many things about the product he would not have learned otherwise. In his own words: "You need to understand every part of the product as ASE exams are not easy. Certification also gives the professional a competitive edge for promotions and other opportunities in the market."

ABHIJIT JADHAV

Congratulations Abhijit Jadhav! Abhijit is one of Sybase's ASE 2008 Gold Metalists and one of the first professionals certified on Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.0! Sybase Education would like to especially congratulate Abhijit for achieving Gold Metalist status. He currently works with India's largest IT service provider company, TATA Consultancy Service Limited, and deputed at Blackrock (Formerly Merrill Lynch Investment Managers) London, UK as a Database Consultant. He has been working on Sybase products for the past 6 years and has significant working experience with Sybase SQL Server 10, 11.X, Sybase ASE 12.x, 12.5.x and now 15.0. He also has experience with Sybase Replication server 12.x, 12.5.x.

Abhijit has successfully executed complex, business critical database projects mainly in the financial service industry. He has a strong knowledge of Sybase PRO-C compiler coding. Over the past 5+ years, he has been managing a popular Sybase DBA forum on yahoo.com for Sybase products in order to help professionals across the world - one method he uses is his 'TIPS Of The Month'. Abhijit also contributes to Sybase's SDN and Code-exchange.

Abhijit believes that the benefits of holding a Sybase certification are great, because certification demonstrates to an employer and the certified professional that he/she is a committed Sybase and technology professional. Certification is a valued asset if one requires professional recognition. Certification also gives the professional a competitive edge for promotion and other opportunities in the market. RUBEN PILLACA

Congratulations Ruben Pillaca! A PowerBuilder Developer heading TechEra, a software company in Lima, Peru. Ruben recently became certified as a PowerBuilder Professional (Version 9.0). He has been using Sybase products since 1996. He is also the author of "Building Distributed Applications with PowerBuilder 9.0" and has held conferences all over South America. We chose Ruben as a spotlight candidate due to his dedication to Sybase products.

Ruben actively promotes Sybase certification in all the conferences he has conducted in South America, including Columbia, Equador and Peru. He is a member of ISUG and actively helps in the PowerBuilder forums. MANOJ KUMAR

Congratulations Manoj Kumar! Manoj is currently working with IBM India on a major project with more than 10 years of experience in various Sybase products. He holds current certifications in ASE 12.0 Administrator Associate, ASE 12.5 Administrator Associate, ASE 12.5 Administrator Professional, ASE 12.5 Developer Associate, ASE 15 Administrator Associate, Replication Server 12.5 Professional, and Replication server 15.0.2 Professional. He also has a working knowledge of Sybase IQ and Adaptive Server Anywhere. According to Manoj: "Sybase certification has great industry value. KARAM CHANA

Congratulations Karam Chana! A Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Replication Server DBA working for an international Investment Bank in London, England, Karam recently became certified as an Adaptive Server Administrator - Professional (Version 12.0). He has been using Sybase products since 1995.

Karam started his DBA career upon graduating from University using Sybase and has always used Sybase technology and worked closely with Sybase professionals. Karam feels Professional Certification offers many benefits. In his own words:

"You instill confidence in your customers and end-users. The certification demonstrates a level of competence and excellence and offers individuals tangible proof of your skill set. I firmly believe that your customers feel more confident when dealing with a professionally certified individual. (Professional Certification) proves your competence and experience and gives you a better foundation to troubleshoot and learn about Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise database software (ASE). The certification exams are challenging, not difficult if you know ASE!, and whilst revising for them you research many areas of ASE which you may normally not have researched. GERARD SCHMITT

Congratulations to Gerard Schmitt! A DBA Consultant from Nice, France who has recently become certified as a Sybase System Administrator. After a coworker boasted the values of Sybase Professional Certification, Gerard believed this was perfect in proving his competence, experience and skills, helping his goal of obtaining contracts in German investment banks. Gerard recommends Professional Certification to all of his colleagues, and suggests reading all of the documentation available in making sure every corner is covered before taking the exams. We wish Gerard good luck in his future endeavors.

JAGADIS CHATTOPADHYAY

Congratulations Jagadis Chattopadhyay! Jagadis works with Wipro Technologies as a data architect in its Kolkata development Centre(KDC). He has worked with Sybase ASE and Replication Server (and others) for the past 8 years, and feels that not only was the process of certification "great fun" but has definitely been an effective process of learning. Jagadis claims that he has learned many things about ASE that he would not have known if it weren't for certification and the preparation it requires. Generally, he claims, "DBAs do not explore all the aspects of ASE as a part of thier scheduled work but certification will force you to do so, and definitely will help you to become a better DBA.That is why certification has a great value in the industry...
