Problem Description
Description: Using the utilities dscp on all platforms and dsedit on Windows from SDK/Open Server 15.0 ESD#13 to modify or delete an existing server entry in the interfaces file corrupts the interfaces file.
Impact: the interfaces file is corrupted.
Workaround:
- Do not use dscp/dsedit to modify or delete the interfaces file.
- Use a text editor to update the interfaces file.
- Use dscp/dsedit from the previous ESD i.e., ESD#12
- Wait for SDK/Open Server 15.0 ESD#14 that is being released by end of June 2008
Products Affected: SDK/Open Server 15.0 ESD#13 on all platforms
Recommendation
Sybase strongly recommends that all customers undertake the following steps until a resolution to this issue becomes available:
- Do not use dscp/dsedit to modify or delete an existing entry in the interfaces file.
- Use dscp/dsedit from SDK 15.0 ESD#12
- Use a text editor to edit the interfaces file.
- Copy the backup of the interfaces file prior to the edit.
Sybase intends to release the following EBFs in June 2008 to resolve the issue
