Dear Valued Sybase Customer,

This letter is to inform you about a new versioning policy and maintenance strategy we are adopting to align with other products in the SAP product portfolio. The policy and strategy is effective beginning with the noted releases and is inclusive of all editions and options:

Product

Release

Adaptive Server Enterprise

15.7

Event Stream Processor (ESP)

  5.1

Power Designer

16.5

Replication Server Enterprise Edition

15.7*

SQL Anywhere

16.0

Sybase IQ

16.0

* Version “15.7.1” of Replication Server Enterprise Edition is designated as version “15.7” under SAP versioning policy.

Other products will also follow these policies when future releases are made available.

All releases for these products use <n.m> where n signifies versions of major releases and m signifies versions of minor releases.  Software patches currently known to Sybase customers as ESD (Electronic Software Delivery) following major or minor releases will be referred to as SP (support package), with numbers of up to three digits. All major and minor releases will have a minimum of 2 years of mainstream maintenance, with a minimum of 1 year overlap with next successive release.

For more information, please visit the following page and look for SAP Release Strategy for all Major Software Releases: http://service.sap.com/releasestrategy**

** Access to certain areas of the SAP Service Marketplace require a login (S-User ID). S-User IDs will be issued to customer under support as they are migrated over to SAP support.

Regards,

Brian Vink

Senior Vice President,
