Hotel and Travel Information
Hotel
Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is the official hotel for Sybase TechWave 2008 and a special conference rate of $189/night is available to conference guests that make reservations by Friday, July 11. Las Vegas and Mandalay Bay are extremely desirable destinations and hotel rooms WILL sell out early, particularly over weekend dates. Plan and manage your time accordingly.
Make a Reservation
Remember, Las Vegas is the largest tourist destination in the world, with 17 of the world's 20 largest hotels, and each of these hotels sells out 97 percent (or more) of its available rooms for the entire year. As you can imagine, check-in lines can be lengthy and getting access to your room can be delayed into the late afternoon. Please plan accordingly.
Here are some suggestions to make your stay as enjoyable as possible:
- Pack your sunglasses and bathing suit in your carry-on bag.
- Sunscreen too. It will be hot.
- Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes on the plane.
- Pack essentials (camera, bathing suit, book, etc.) in a small backpack or duffle inside your luggage. If you have to check your bags, you can just pull it out and go.
- Charge your cellphone/PDA/Gameboy just before you leave.
- If you can get past the casinos and restaurants, Mandalay Place is a shopping mall like none other.
